2023 Season | Northern Sky Theater

2023 Season

We know 2023 is going to be just fantastic, and there’s no one we’d rather enjoy it with than you!

Northern Sky will present two shows outdoors in Peninsula State Park during the summer: The Fish Whisperer (a world premiere) and Cheeseheads! The Musical. Indoors for the summer at the Gould Theater, we will present Guys on Ice (celebrating its 25th anniversary) and Guys & Does. The two summer shows at the Gould will feature an identical cast of Northern Sky favorites.

This September, we will bring our concert Lipstick Optional (celebrating the women of Northern Sky) to the Park for three weekends. Indoors at the Gould for the fall will be When Pigs Fly.

The two summer shows at the Park will run in repertory six nights a week, including a two show night on Mondays. The two summer shows at the Gould will also run in repertory six nights a week. The fall concert in the Park will run the first three weekends in September. The fall indoor show will run six nights a week in September and October. Ticket sales begin on March 1, 2023.

Colorful Door County characters tell hilarious stories and sing uplifting songs, all while seeking help from a local saint to find romance, win a pie contest, and lift the curse on the family farm. With the wit and warmth of A Prairie Home Companion, the show brims with nonstop laughs, rich harmonies, and instrumental fireworks from an award-winning multi-instrumentalist. Will you find a funnier, more heartwarming show this fall? When pigs fly!

When the fish stop biting in the small Wisconsin town of Shewauga, a mysterious outsider named Hannah Hill offers to get them biting again—but only if the residents pay her $10,000!  To the locals, this all sounds a bit fishy. Is she a con artist or a genuine talent? Brimming with hope and romance, The Fish Whisperer is a world premiere musical that will hook you with sweet melodies and laughs!

The Fish Whisperer is part of World Premiere Wisconsin, a statewide new works festival taking place from March 1 – June 30, presented by the Ten Chimneys Foundation. Northern Sky Theater is proud to be a lead producer within a coalition of Wisconsin theaters celebrating new plays and musicals to raise awareness nation-wide that Wisconsin has a thriving and diverse theater ecosystem.

A modern-day dairy-tale with a lotto heart. The show was inspired by the true story of how 100 Wisconsin cheese factory workers won over $200 million in the Powerball jackpot.
